The TV host has confirmed that she and wife Portia are parents – but concedes that the “Kid” she’s been keeping secret is in fact a puppy, called Kid.
“I have not talked about this yet, but we have a new puppy. His name is Kid, so now we’ve got a kid,” she says.
Ellen says her nine-week-old fur baby is “absolutely adorable” – except when he keeps her awake all night.
It sounds like little Kid is quite the noisy one!
“It’s not cute to wake up at 11, 1, 3, and 5! And then 5 is when he’s up,” she told the audience on Ellen.
“It really makes me appreciate what it’s like to be a mother. Because I’m trying to hold a puppy while I’m trying to make coffee. And I can’t do anything. He doesn’t let me do anything,” she adds.
“And I named him Kid because… there have been rumours for ever! ‘When are you and Portia going to have a kid?’ So now I can say we have a Kid.”
