Coming off the high of her astounding win on the US version of the dancing competition, Bindi Irwin revealed to Good Morning America the stunning way it’s changed her life.

Bindi stopped by the breakfast program based in New York with the other final four contestants after flying through the night from LA.

“It truly has changed my life and I feel like I have grown as a person,” the 17-year-old gushed about her time in the competition.

“Not only have I learnt about the world of sequins and sparkles and high heels, but also to have been blessed enough to work with this beautiful family – I feel like my family has just been extended even more than animals,” she added.

“Now I have this gorgeous family who this experience will forever be a part of my life and will live in my heart.”

Bindi and her dancing partner Derek were overwhelmed when they were announced as the winners.

While her partner Derek was taking a break backstage on the talk show, Bindi’s mum Terri, who has been with her daughter every step of the way, was on hand to give her perspective.

“Bindi is the most optimistic person on planet earth and we hope it rubs off on everybody,” the mum-of-two quipped.

“But we never knew she could dance, so this has really been an extraordinary journey for those of us who didn’t know there was this tiny dancer within her.”

From rehearsals to the the studio audience, Bindi’s mum Terri was there every step of the way!

It wasn’t just the wildlife warrior’s mum who gave her a glowing review, the other finalists couldn’t stop signing her praises.

After the winner was announced, runner-up Nick Carter made it clear that he though Bindi deserved to win and he continued that testament on GMA.

“The friendships, the bonds that we have on this show, it is unexplainable, it’s something we are always going to cherish,” he admitted.

And as Bindi now celebrates her win, reports have surfaced that she’ll be back home in matter of days to help her brother Bob celebrate his 12th birthday at Australia Zoo.

Whatever happens next though, it’s clear that Bindi is just going onwards and upwards.
