Top six winter hair tricks!

Top six winter hair tricks!

Don’t know what to do with your locks this winter? Toni & Guy’s hair expert Sam Overton shares his top five hot looks for your locks and explains how to use dry shampoo and which products work well in winter.

1. Dry shampoo

In between shampoos use dry shampoo (no water) to give your hair a dry, gritty rock-star feel. Flip your head over and work in the dry shampoo and blast it like crazy with your hair dryer. This will create natural body and texture.

2. Wear it out with curls

Wear your hair out with soft, sexy waves. Randomly pick bits of your hair out and twist them round your iron to create some loose curls. Do this all over then brush the curls out to create, soft, sexy waves.

3. Braids

Get a few more days out of your hair with braids which are big this season. Loosely braid your hair to the side (either side looks hot), tie it off then ruffle the braid so it looks as it’s been in for ages. There you go — yesterday’s hair today.

4. Hairspray, hairspray, hairspray

Don’t be scared of hairspray, it’s your friend. Once you’ve styled your hair (short or long) grab your hairspray and start shaking your head like a madman, all the while spraying the hairspray and blasting your hair with a hair dryer.

5. Get your hair moving!

This is so the hairspray doesn’t just end up in two places. The reason for this is to create separation, texture and body and also to look like you haven’t used any product in your hair — au natural.

6. Use good shampoos and treatments

Spoiling your hair is good for you. Try and repair all the summer beach damage you’ve caused to your hair. Hair is forgiving but make sure not to leave it too late.
