As Pippa Middleton, younger sister to the Duchess of Cambridge, prepares to wed financier James Matthews, yet another extravagant detail has come to light: the bride will arrive at her wedding in a horse-drawn carriage.

The carriage, which will be pulled by locally bred horses, will travel from the Middleton Family home in Bucklebury for nearly ten kilometres until it reaches St Mark’s Church, in Englefield, Berkshire.

“I have heard on good authority that Pippa will be riding in a carriage from Bucklebury to the church in Englefield, just like a princess,” a local told The Sun.

They added: “A livery yard owner has been told that she will be driven in a carriage to the church.”

The glamorous choice suggests the bride-to-be may have pulled inspiration from her older sister who was carried from Westminster Abbey to her wedding reception at Buckingham Palace by a horse-drawn carriage back in 2011.

We can’t wait to see what other royal elements will inspire the big day! Perhaps a balcony appearance? Or a tiara?

When Duchess Kate married Prince William in 2011, the world was captivated by the fairytale affair.

Pippa’s wedding to the 41-year-old billionaire will be an intimate 330 guest affair with the reception to be held on the grounds of the Middleton Family’s Bucklebury home.

And while Pippa herself has kept quiet about the design and designer of the dress, a source close to celebrity fashion designer Giles Deacon, rumoured to be creating the special gown, tells E! News the design is “very simple, elegant and it’s all handmade.” Adding: “Very few people have seen the finished thing.”

Designing the gown hasn’t been without its hiccups though. It has been taken in five times since Pippa’s initial fitting, according to the source, as she’s slimmed down in the last six months in the lead up to the big day.

In other Pippa wedding news, a rather bizarre request from the bride-to-be has come to light: wedding guests have been asked to bring a second outfit to change into for the reception.

Daily Mail diarist Richard Eden recently took to Twitter to share this latest clue about the impending nuptials, writing: “Guests at #pippamiddleton’s wedding have been asked to take second outfit for reception. Is this a trend? Sounds like a bore to me.”

The Duchess of Cambridge, who tied the knot in April 2011, changed into a second wedding gown for the evening celebrations at Buckingham Palace.

Whether or not the request holds any water, social media has gone into overdrive picking apart the spectacularly inconvenient ask:

“Where do they get changed?”

“Sounds a tad ridiculous and over the top. One fancy, expensive outfit should do it.”

“It already costs a fortune having a different outfit for every wedding…”

Of course, many brides chose to change into a second wedding dress for the reception — as Pippa’s older sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, did — but this is the first we’ve heard of guests being asked to mimic the trend.

The wait is nearly over… all the very best with the final preparations, Pippa!
