Congratulations are in order for Matt Golinski and fiancé Erin Yarwood who have welcomed their first child together — a girl!

The happy news comes nearly six years after a house fire tragically killed the celebrity chef’s wife and three daughters and left him with burns to 40 per cent of his body.

On Thursday, Matt’s father, Keith, phoned into ABC Sunshine Coast’s studio to share the happy news.

“People deserve to share some of the joy as well,” he said. “I’m still in a state of unbelief, it is such good news.”

He added that while he is yet to meet his new grand-daughter, his son told him she had “Mum’s dark hair and the Golinski dimples.”

The proud parents have since issued a statement to the Sunshine Coast Daily, revealing they welcomed an 8 pound, 9 ounce baby girl into the world on Wednesday.

“Matt and Erin thank everyone for their support and well wishes and ask for privacy as they get to know their little bundle of pure joy,” the statement read.

The new arrival is yet to be named.

Matt recently opened up about his engagement to personal trainer Erin, who assisted him during his rehabilitation after the tragedy.

“I hadn’t really been considering the idea of a new relationship,” he told the Daily Mail. “I just wanted to get well and move on from everything.”

“Then, fate came along and I was lucky to meet someone who was really special.”

He added: “I started thinking about how I could imagine spending my life with her.”

The former Ready Steady Cook regular proposed on top of the Sunshine Coast’s Mount Cooroora in Pomona.

“A lot of people search their whole lives for love,” he concluded. “I have been lucky enough to have two great loves. To love two, wonderful, kind women.”

Congratulations again to the happy family!
