Three teenage siblings die in horrific “split second” crash

Their father heard the accident on a two-way radio and looped back to discover the wreckage, collapsing at the scene.

A father discovered the carnage of a horrific “split second” crash between two trucks and a car which killed his three teenage children in Northern NSW.

Jack Pink, 19, was driving a Pantech truck full of furniture when he collided with a fuel tanker near Boggabilla, NSW just after 6am yesterday morning.

His sisters, Marina, 17, and Destiny, 15, were in a car directly behind Jack’s truck and were also killed when they collided with the tanker and burst into flames.

Marina, 17, Jack, 19, and Destiny, 15.

Their father, Glenn Pink, had been travelling in front of the convey and had turned back when he heard the accident on a two-way radio to discover the wreckage and collapsed at the scene.

Marina, one of seven children, was due to celebrate her 18th birthday today.

The family, a part of the travelling show circuit, were returning from a show in Dubbo to their home near Beenleigh, south of Brisbane.

“It’s devastating. They were fifth-generation show people,” Showmen’s Guild of Australasia secretary John Davis told AAP.

The driver of the fuel tanker is being treated at Goondiwindi Hospital for back pain and cuts to his face, said Superintendent Maule.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family of nine after the devastating accident.

“As you can imagine this is an incredibly difficult time for their parents Jaze & Glenn and siblings Coral, Jeanna, George & Patrick,” the page reads.

“Marina, one of seven children to parents Jaze and Glenn Pink, was just a day short of her 18th birthday.

“All gone at the same time … to lose 1 would be crazy. They lost 3 in 1 split second is just out of this world,” family wrote.

“Jaze and Glenn are good people with an amazing family … what they do is everything for the kids.

“They are great people and their sacrificial love for their kids knows no bounds. This is a crushing blow to this tight knit family.”

So far, the page has raised $75,000 of its $100k goal.

Friends and family of the Pink family have used a pink filter on their Facebook profile pictures to commemorate the teenagers.

Jack’s girlfriend, Monica Watkins, paid tribute to the 19-year-old via a Facebook post in the wake of the tragedy.

“I’ve never been so sure about someone in my life, not only did I just lose my boyfriend today but I lost my future.”

“Not a goodbye, because I’m so sure that you will come and visit me in my dreams tonight.”
