Speculation that Prince Harry proposed to actress Meghan Markle on their recent extended holiday on an African safari is being fuelled by the pair’s joint return to London.

Royal insiders have been claiming that Harry popped the question in his “spiritual home”, and the same continent Will proposed to Kate, and now it seems Meghan is set to visit the family.

An eyewitness saw the couple looking smitten with each other at Heathrow Airport.

“The pair wore baseball caps and sat in the first class carriage, reading magazines and chatting quietly,” the told Daily Star.

“Meghan was smiley and giddy looking.”

The couple is believed to be staying with Harry’s dad in Birkhall, Scotland, which is just a stone’s throw from the Queens’s regular home in Balmoral.

It’s been rumoured that Meghan will be making a trip to see her majesty – a necessity for any royal marriage.

Harry has been vocal about his immense love and respect for his grandmother and claims that it’s this love and sense of duty for Queen Elizabeth II that has kept him from leaving to live a “normal life”.

According to Darren McGrady, who was personal chef to Princess Diana and watched the “boys” — Prince Harry and Prince William — grow up at Kensington Palace, the pair will announce their happy news in December.

“I really do think they would have been engaged by now,” he told HELLO! Online. “But with Princess Diana’s 20th anniversary this month in August, they can’t trump that.

“And then November is the Queen and Prince Philip’s platinum wedding anniversary so they can’t trump that either, whereas December they can announce the engagement and they’d be free to marry next year; I think that’s what’s going to happen.”

He added: “Meghan can join the royals at Sandringham at Christmas because she’ll be engaged and part of the fold.”
