The Bachelorette intruder Stu Laundy is still married

This could make things awkward.

Hotel heir Stu Laundy will be stepping into the Bachelorette mansion as an intruder this week, but there’s one crucial element that may complicate things with Sophie Monk.

He’s still married.

Yep, Stu’s not quite the unattached bachelor that fans of the show will be expecting to see. Four years after his wife Rachel wanted a separation, the estranged couple are in the final stages of their divorce settlement.

According to News Corp, the multi-millionaire had held off the divorce in the hope of reconciling with his wife.

He said: “I prefer being married absolutely. (Divorce) wasn’t my decision.”

“But any chance of reconciling is pretty-much over I would say.

“And that’s basically why the divorce has taken so long. I really wanted to work it out,” he continued.

Will Stu win Sophie over?

The 44-year-old has four daughters with his soon-to-be ex, and is the heir to a $500 million fortune. Stu’s brother is Federal Liberal Minister Craig Laundy, and his father is pub owner, Arthur Laundy.

Stu is tipped to be the front runner to win Sophie’s heart and we’ll see it all unfold this week.

It’s not the first time Stu has appeared on reality TV. In June, he joined the SBS show Filthy Rich and Homeless, which followed high-profile Aussie identities living on the streets.
