We need to talk about what happened on MasterChef last night

Fans of MasterChef went into meltdown on social media last night over Sarah’s cook-off against chef Ben Devlin.

In an intense battle for immunity, Sarah toughed it out against the professional chef from Paper Daisy.

Sarah chose to cook a seafood dish using prawns and shrimp paste. All was going well until Ben popped over to see just how Sarah was planning on cooking her prawns.

He liked her idea of cooking her prawns directly on the grill’s flame so much he decided to do the same thing.

While the judges were impressed with both dishes, Ben’s dish pipped Sarah’s by just one point! Cue. The. Outrage.

Fans were unimpressed with the fact that Ben changed his cooking plan to use Sarah’s style and took to social media to vent their frustration.

“Dissapointed that Sarah wasn’t awarded the immunity pin. Ben was a cheat! He went over to her work bench and stole HER idea,” one fan wrote on Facebook.

“Sarah is the real winner. Ben is a cheater. Thumbs down,” another wrote.

With only 10 cooks left in the competition, an immunity pin is a highly sought-after prize, and one that Sarah was determined to get her hands on.

Prior to her cook-off with Ben, Sarah had already battled with Eliza and Eloise, with her Szechuan-crusted chicken wings winning over the judges.

Despite last night’s setback, Sarah is still determined to do everything she can to win this season of MasterChef Australia.

“Winning the competition, it’s something that hallmarks my achievement that shows my family this is what I’m passionate about, this is what I love, and I’m good at it,” Sarah tells TV WEEK.
