For more than 15 years American blogger Perez Hilton has been spilling the tea on – and feuding with – some of the world’s biggest celebs.

Now the dad-of-three is heading into the South African jungle to mix it with the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here campmates and he promises he won’t hold back when it comes to calling out bad behaviour or getting stuck into the ickiest of icky challenges.

“Despite what some might think, I’m actually not a diva,” Perez dishes over the phone from his home in NYC.

“I want to go into the jungle and entertain and I’ll do whatever I have to do to be entertaining. I hope I can surprise people.”

We ask the gossip guru the big questions:

OK!:Do you even know what you’re getting yourself into by going into the jungle?

Perez: Yes, I’ve been watching the series. I’ve seen every episode and I’ve been riveted so far.

The casting is great and Rhonda seems like a real hoot. Although I’m convinced she’s snuck some makeup or tinted moisturiser into camp. Girl looks fresh as hell!

Do you think the romance between Charlotte Crosby and Ryan Gallagher is real?

Look, I know a showmance when I see one but I’m not sure on this one yet.

I believe they share the same representation so it could be a showmance – but I’m a very good judge of character and a great investigative reporter so I’ll suss it out when I get into camp.

You had a wild time when you appeared on the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother a few years ago. Do you think going into the jungle will be harder?

I made a huge mistake when I did Big Brother. All the other celebrities took sleeping pills in with them and I didn’t so I didn’t sleep for a fortnight.

It made me crazy. I won’t make that mistake again.

How else have you prepared for jungle life?

I have three kids under the age of 6 and I love my coffee but I gave up caffeine on January 1st to prepare for going without in camp. It’s hell! I’ve had the worst migraines.

I’ve also done a couple of days when I only eat 800 calories because that’s the bare minimum we’ll get in the jungle if we don’t win any stars.

That’s actually not too bad. I think some celebrities exaggerate how hard camp life will be. I’m telling myself it’s going to be easy.

Have you asked Caitlyn Jenner for any tips on coping with life in the jungle after she appeared on the UK’s I’m A Celeb?

No, I haven’t because the producers said I’m not allowed to tell anyone and I’m such a goody goody, I’ve stuck by that.

You’ve been through some vicious celebrity feuds over the years. Have you mellowed?

I’m not afraid to say it like it is and that’s caused me to fall out with people like Lady Gaga and Khloe Kardashian over the years – but I’ve also tried to make peace with a lot of people too.

I wish everybody well.

What are you most scared of?

I’m terrified of literally actually dying. I could slip, I could hit my head…I could steal Tanya’s socks and get into trouble!

Who knows? Anything could happen in there…
