A 15-year-old Perth boy has pleaded guilty to raping an 84-year-old grandma and then forcing her to wash away DNA evidence in front of him.

The boy, who cannot be named, admitted to the horrific sex attack after breaking into the woman’s home around 5am while she slept on October 13th.

The teenager raped the woman three times and forced herself to shower in an attempt to wash away any DNA evidence before ransacking the property and fleeing the scene, police said.

The boy was allegedly on parole at the time of the attack and CCTV footage released by detectives of a hooded figure leaving the Waikiki home led to his arrest two days later.

The elderly woman, who lives alone, was left badly injured and traumatised by the assault.

The teenager is facing seven charges, including three of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, aggravated indecent assault and stealing.

In the wake of the attack, Senior Constable Rulan Carr warned elderly citizens to be vigilant.
