After just two weeks of knowing each other, former Today show host Georgie Gardner and husband Tim Baker knew they were each other’s ‘one.’
Flash forward to October 2023, the happily married couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary together.
Tim asked Georgie to marry him four months into the relationship.
(Image: Instagram)“20 years married and after the highs, the lows and lots of in between …. still a lot of love and so much more to explore together with this handsome rooster!” she wrote on Instagram.
Despite these “highs” and “lows,” Georgie instantly had the “gut feeling” that Tim was the man for her.
“My gut feeling was that we were part of the same tribe. I felt immediately comfortable in his company,” Gardner said of her husband to 9Honey in 2018.
They have been married for 20 years.

The pair collided when Georgie just so happened to attend a friend’s birthday party at a Sydney pub, the friend just so happened to be Tim’s friend too.
“It was just, it was effortless,” she said.
“We spoke the same language and from a very early stage (I think it came from him having a dog) I could see he was a carer. He was just so kind and that was really important to me.”
Georgie recalled being 31 or 32 years old when she met her soulmate, a time where she was “looking to find [her] life partner.”
Four months into their relationship, Tim dropped to one knee and asked Georgie for her hand in marriage.
Speaking to the Australian’s Women’s Weekly, Georgie revealed it “felt right” with Tim.
“He’s just a really kind, generous guy. He’s quite shy but self-assured. Fiercely intelligent, and he always has my back,” she said.
Georgie has two children.

The pair welcomed two beautiful children together, Angus who celebrated his 16th birthday in January 2023 and Bronte who recently graduated high school.
“He is a phenomenal father. I have said to the kids on so many occasions, you have the best father going around,” she told AWW.
