Five Bedrooms, Playing For Keeps and Australian Surivor were just some of the major series confirmed to be returning when Network 10 held their annual Upfronts today in Sydney.

The Upfronts unveiled 10’s line-up for 2020, for channels including 10, 10 Peach, 10 Bold and the network’s CBS-affiliated streaming service 10 All Access.

“In 2020, our content will be everywhere – across all platforms – creating a playground that will ensure our shows connect with Australians like never before and get all of Australia talking,” says Network 10 Chief Content Officer Beverley McGarvey.

Starting in early January, 10 will begin dropping their line-up of home-grown series including major franchises, comedy, drama and news and current affairs programs.

Fans of this year’s breakout series Five Bedrooms will be thrilled to know the Melbourne-based drama is returning, with cast members Steve Peacocke, Kat Stewart, Katie Robertson, Roy Joseph, Doris Younane, Hugh Sheridan and Kate Jenkinson.

Five Bedrooms returns in 2020.

10 has confirmed that Lisa McCune and Peter Helliar’s comedy series How To Stay Married will return. Also, a mysterious new drama series called The Secrets She Keeps will premiere, with 10 hinting “it’s all about secrets… that everyone wants to keep hidden.”

Reality TV favourites including the Bachelor franchise, Dancing With The Stars, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The Masked Singer Australia will return.

For the first time ever Australian Survivor will return for two seasons in one year, with Jonathan LaPaglia hosting an All Stars version set to hit screens in February, followed by a second version later in the year.

“Obviously we wanted to make sure this show was really established before we went to the position of doing it twice a year,” Beverley tells TV WEEK of the decision to air Survivor twice.

She admits that airing the All Stars season in the early months of 2020 is “strategic” as “reality competition is incredibly intense” during that time. Australian Survivor: All Stars will go up against the likes of Married At First Sight on Nine.

“Survivor obviously is very different than the other two big reality shows on at that time,” she says. “So utilising Survivor in Q1 is something that we really believe will make us very competitive.”
