The Block’s Chantel and Wyatt face new cheating accusations

“Wyatt anchors me. He’s what keeps me calm,” mum-of-three Chantel tells TV WEEK. “He was tired; I was tired; things weren’t going to plan. And, if ever he’s upset with me, I feel my whole world is crashing down.”

The drama erupts during Guest Suite Week, when Chantel and Wyatt’s early progress, thanks to the Cursio brothers getting their waterproofing finished before the other teams, quickly raises eyebrows and sparks accusations that they’ve been working after hours.

The couple insist there is more to the story than viewers see on screen. Particularly as the accusations first come from former Block contestant and friend of the Cursios, Spence Thomson. 

“He was there to cause drama with them,” personal trainer Wyatt explains. “And we have time-stamped photos of the exact time they finished water-proofing, which is before site closes.”

And, for those questioning why the Cursios happen to have photographic evidence of their finishing time, Wyatt, 30, insists there is a simple explanation.

“They’re on site working for Nine in Six as well; they aren’t just working for us,” he says. “They take photos to make sure all of their times and their invoices are correct.”

But the pressure soon gets to Wyatt. And, after being sent on a wild goose chase to pick up an item for Chantel, he reaches boiling point.

“It was an hour and a half out of my day,” Wyatt says. “Then Chantel hung up on me. It was stressing me out.”

He ultimately storms off site, leaving Chantel, 32, to keep working alone. But Wyatt isn’t worried about how his outbursts will look to viewers.

“People are only seeing me eat and blow up,” he laughs. “They never actually see me working! At the end of the day, it doesn’t bother me what people will think.”

With tensions between the couple now running at an all-time high, will Wyatt return to the site in time to help Chantel finish their Guest Suite?

The Block airs Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 7pm on Nine Network and 9Now.
