Beau Ryan may be a seriously doting dad who would undoubtedly keep his kids entertained for hours on end.

But during an emotional chat on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! the father-of-two opened up about his regrets as a parent.

While chatting to fellow campmates Dylan Lewis and Cal Wilson, the former NRL star-turned-Amazing Race host admitted that he wished he spent more time with his nine-year-old daughter Remi when she was younger.

Beau wishes he was “more present” when his daughter was younger.

“When people ask ‘What do you look forward to most?’, I just want to be there with my son or my daughter,” he told his I’m a Celeb co-stars.

“Because I’ve had times that I regret, like looking at when my daughter was real little where I was not present.”

Beau then revealed that in an effort to spend more quality time with Remi, he started training her for the school cross country.

“We do two laps at 6:30, but the end goal is the coffee shop and I want to have a coffee with her and she has a hot chocolate, so the running just disarms her for the hot chocolate and that’s what I want the most,” he said.

Beau and his wife Kara share Remi, nine, and Jesse, four.

“But when I’m with them and they’re asking me things that have nothing to do about me, that’s when I’m the happiest.”

After Beau showed his vulnerability, fellow contestant Emily Seebohm told the cameras that she enjoyed hearing the 36-year-old open up about his family.

“The way he talks about his wife, the way he talks about his kids, you can just see from the inside out, he just glows whenever he mentions them,” the Olympic swimmer said.

Just one look at Beau’s social media shows his kids are the apples of his eye. Last month, the TV personality shared a heartwarming tribute to Remi to mark her ninth birthday.

“Happy Birthday to my princess Rem Rem,” he wrote. “I’m so proud to be your Dad. I love you more than I can put into words. Keep being you and know that you’ll ride shotgun with me forever.”

Beau and his wife Kara, who tied the knot in 2012, also share a four-year-old son named Jesse.

On Jesse’s birthday in July last year, Beau described his youngest as “the king”.

“I’m so proud to be your dad. Thanks for making each day better and better. I love you. Keep being you Jesse,” he said.
