It’s safe to say Samantha Jade is a woman of many talents. After winning The X Factor Australia in 2012, the pint-sized performer went on to star in Home and Away as single mum Isla Schultz in 2016.

While she eventually decided to put her acting career on hold – she wanted to focus on her music instead – Samantha now admits she’s keen to return to our screens.

Here, Samantha, 31, opens up about her plans ahead of Christmas, why she can’t wait to perform at Woolworths Carols in the Domain this weekend and what’s in store for 2019…

TV WEEK: What does Christmas mean to you?

Samantha: It’s all about family and spending time with loved ones for me!

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?

I’ll be home for Christmas in Perth! I’m so excited. We usually just spend time hanging out at home and listening to carols and watching Christmas movies!

What are you most looking forward to when it comes to Carols in the Domain this year?

I love performing at Carols! It’s one of my favourite gigs of the year! It’s magical – nothing can describe the beautiful energy in the room!

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution?

Just to set aside some time off and not say yes to too much!

What can fans expect from you in 2019?

New music! I’m going to get in the studio and write some songs.

Do you have any plans for more acting?

Absolutely! That’s the goal! It has to be the right project but I can’t wait to delve into more acting.

Woolworths Carols in the Domain airs Saturday 22nd December, 8pm, Channel Seven
