Royal fans are officially in celebration mode after Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their first child together.
And now, many are wondering how the 32-year-old managed to keep her exciting news under wraps – especially when she’s been out and about a lot lately.
In the days leading up to Beatrice’s baby news, which was announced on the Queen’s official social media accounts, the princess was photographed driving around Windsor with her mum Sarah, Duchess of York and she was spotted enjoying dinner in Mayfair with her husband.
However, no royal watcher picked up on any signs of a burgeoning bump.
The couple managed to keep their baby news under wraps, despite being out and about.
(Credit: Instagram)According to a new report in Hello! the pregnant royal took a leaf out of Kate Middleton’s book and used a very nifty styling technique to ward off curious eyes.
The trick in question? Changing up her hairstyle.
In fact, the technique was used during Beatrice’s last royal appearance for Prince Philip’s funeral last month.
She wore a big black coat with a belt that cinched in the waist and to distract from her outfit, and she clasped her strawberry red hair into a thick ponytail that flowed down to her lower back.
The statement hairstyle was striking and quite a head-turning hairdo that successfully swerved people’s eyes from her belly to her head.
Of course, the thick and form-fitting coat also added an extra layer of protection.

Beatrice, 31, married her husband during the UK’s first lockdown in 2020, and now that restrictions have eased up, the couple can hopefully enjoy their pregnancy more publicly and freely.
