Romanian mother leaves triplets at hospital

“I hope people can understand that I just don’t have any possibility to feed or care for them.”

A set of Romanian triplets will be offered for adoption after their mother left them at the hospital, saying she couldn’t afford to care for them.

AP reports that Jeaneta Bente, left the little girls in the maternity ward.

Jeaneta lives in dire poverty, with photographs showing a one-room shack, with no electricity or running water.

Jeaneta, who already has three other children, named her daughters Alexandra, Isabela and Cristina.

“I hope people can understand that I just don’t have any possibility to feed or care for them,” she reportedly said.

“But I wish them the best and hope they have a better life than I can give them,” she added.

The triplets are reportedly all in perfect health, despite being born prematurely.

Doctors were initially unable to put them up for adoption, as they needed permission from the mother, but Jeanete, who is illiterate, has since offered her thumbprint.
