The Handmaid’s Tale star Yvonne Strahovski accidentally just revealed her baby’s gender on the Emmys red carpet

Australian actress and Emmy nominee Yvonne Strahovski, 35, is set to welcome her first child “any day” now.

And it seems The Handmaid’s Tale favourite can’t wait to welcome her bub with husband Tim Loden.

In fact, the actress accidentally just let slip her baby’s gender during an interview with E!‘s Giuliana Rancic at the 2018 Emmys red carpet.

Opening up about her impending arrival, she mused: “I’m just gonna hold him in there hope for the best.”

Yvonne, who is up for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series gong thanks to her powerful role as Serena Joy, quickly realised her gaffe.

“I just let it slip earlier didn’t I? Breaking news,” she laughed.

It’s a boy! The Handmaid’s Tale let slip on the Emmys red carpet she’s expecting a son.

“It’s out! If it changes, we’ll let you know,” her husband Tim chimed in.

Yvonne announced she was pregnant back in May with a heartfelt post on Instagram which showed her cradling her bump.

“I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news – I’m going to be a Mama,” the Sydney-born star penned.

“So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day!”

The 35-year-old, pictured with her husband Tim Loden is up for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy Award.

Since landing the role of the evil and conniving Serena Joy on The Handmaid’s Tale, Yvonne’s star has continued to rise.

“I just am fascinated by the character,” she told E! News of the role.

“She’s so tragic and miserable to me and it’s so fascinating what makes people take when theyr’e going down that route, being that kind of a person, and this season especially, finding her vulnerability and her humanity within that was compelling to me, and I’m so grateful that the writers wrote that kind of a journey for me.”
