After years of entertaining children, it should come as no surprise that Red Wiggle Simon Pryce is a natural when it comes to being a dad.
The 50-year-old operatic singer and his fitness instructor wife Lauren Hannaford welcomed their first child together – a baby boy called Asher William Pryce – in January 2021 and have been loving every minute of parenthood.
“I am so overcome with emotion and overwhelming feelings of love that it’s impossible to put in to words everything I am feeling right now. ❤️,” Simon penned at the time.
“@lozhannaford and I are so fortunate, happy and blessed to have you in our lives. 🙏🏼 Welcome to the world ASHER WILLIAM PRYCE 💙In an instant, I can’t imagine my life without you being here,” the children’s entertainer signed off his heartfelt post.
The couple were thrilled to have a boy, first revealing the gender to Now To Love last year where they told us: “We sort of always thought we would have a boy first. He’s a very active little boy,” Lauren said at the time.’

The pair, who married in 2017 after meeting on the set of a Wiggles tour, encountered a challenging journey to welcoming their new baby, with Lauren struggling to conceive initially.
They have since revealed it took Lauren two years before she fell pregnant following the discovery of cysts on her ovaries. But she miraculously fell pregnant naturally, and it’s clear the journey was absolutely worth it.
“We never put a lot of pressure on ourselves [while trying to fall pregnant]. But then there were complications, as soon as we got out of our head that it doesn’t look like we can physically fall pregnant at the moment, we fell pregnant… And you hear that story so many times but that’s literally what happened,” Red Wiggle told Now To Love of their fertility journey.

Simon and Lauren welcomed their baby boy, Asher William Pryce, in January 2021.
The couple fell in love after meeting on a Wiggles tour with Lauren working as a dancer, bringing to life iconic characters such as Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Dorothy the Dinosaur.
Wake up, Asher! You’re missing all the fun now.
Nothing beats a mother-son nap session.
“Asher is a lively little boy and we can’t get enough of his gorgeous little smiles,” Proud mum Loz has said of her bub’s personality.
Baby’s first trip to NZ! Red Wiggle Simon was joined by his wife and bub during The Wiggles’ tour of New Zealand in May 2021.
“Sometimes I try to squeeze in a workout while Asher naps, but you just have to make it work,” fitness instructor Lauren, who has launched her own fitness program tailored for pregnant mums, called FHIT by Lauren Hannaford, confessed of trying to keep active.
When children’s entertainer Simon celebrated his first birthday as a dad, there was one key person who accidentally snoozed through the celebrations.
“Asher sleeping through your whole party is not an indication of the quality of celebration, please don’t take it personally,” Lauren joked.
“It’s been a really beautiful experience,” the then-34-year-old dancer told WHO of becoming a mother.
“Ok fine, I won’t go to the gym. We can have cuddles instead,” Simon mused alongside this snap and honestly, we don’t blame him!
“We kept on pretending that we weren’t fully committed to the name Asher for ages, but we did sort of practise walking into his room and going, ‘Hey, Asher!’ And writing his name out and all that fun stuff. But we did get sold from the meaning of Asher – the name means blessed and happy,” Lauren revealed of their choice in name.
Missing his little family: “Can’t wait to see @lozhannaford and Asher today. ❤️ Very grateful to be touring again but always hard spending time apart. ✈️ It might not look it but I’m sure Asher feels the same way 😆,” the children’s entertainer admitted.
“We love watching you grow and get stronger and stronger every day little man,” Loz beamed next to this adorable snap.
In May 2021, the family enjoyed a cosy weekend away at Taralga in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales.
“So grateful for this little family of mine! They give me a reason to smile every single day,” fitness entrepreneur Loz mused next to this snap.
The sweet trio were all smiles at the Sydney Cricket Ground to watch the Swans Vs. Magpies AFL match.
Decked out in red and white memorabilia, it was easy to see which team the family were rooting for.
“Not that we are influencing his choice in team at all 😆 GO @sydneyswans 🔴⚪️,” Simon penned.
