Marvel has responded to the news that all five DC superhero TV series have been renewed with a renewal of their own.

It’s bringing back gritty superhero series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, for season three!

“Cats out of the bag!” lead actor Krysten Ritter says on Instagram. “Excited to finally be able to share that we are making another season of my favorite [sic] thing with my favorite [sic] people – GO JJ GO!”

Co-star, Aussie Rachael Taylor, adds: “Wahoo! JJS3! I could not be any luckier than to be going back to work with these incredible women.”

The show, which airs on Netflix, launched its second season in March this year, meaning the post-binge timing couldn’t have been better.

Season two picks up after the death of Jessica’s (played by Krysten) nemesis Kilgrave (David Tennant) – the event which forces her to explore the secrets of her past.

But there’s no word yet on where the third season will head next.

The news comes as Netflix decides not to continue with ’90s comedy, Everything Sucks.

Elsewhere in renewal news, HBO’s Silicon Valley will also return.

Elsewhere, two HBO comedies are each getting another season for 2019. Barry, the Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live, South Park)-led series will return for season two, being renewed before the first instalment has finished airing.

Silicon Valley is also confirmed for a sixth season following the dramatic departure of actor T.J. Miller.

“While Barry has delighted audiences with its deft interplay of comedy and drama, Silicon Valley remains as brilliantly and frighteningly prescient as ever,” says Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO programming.

“We’re thrilled that these two smart, funny shows are returning for another season.”
