The Sabrina reboot can’t come soon enough and, to tide us over until its anticipated return, the cast of the original live-action Sabrina the Teenage Witch has treated us to a reunion special.

EW has brought the cast; including Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, Beth Broderick and Nick Bakay, together 15 years on to celebrate and reflect on the success of the show.

“When fans come to us and say, ‘We grew up with you,’ that is the biggest compliment we could ever receive for working hard all those years,” Melissa, who starred as the titular character, says.

“Every actor wants to have that one role that’s iconic, that speaks to people, that people relate to it.

“It just makes us feel good that so many people enjoyed it and enjoyed our work and what more can you ask for?”

Beth Broderick, who played the rational Aunt Hilda, adds fans of the show adored her character’s sage advice.

“I still have young women come up to me and say, ‘You were my childhood, you’re like my second mom’,” she reveals.

“‘I listened to your advice when I was 9 and you were right.'”

The voice of the sassy black cat Salem, Nick Bakay, sums up the sitcom’s phenomenon as “stunning”.

“It owned a generation of girls,” he says. “It’s great to be a part of something that resonates like that.”

Even creator Nell Scovell has fans approach her to praise the show’s lasting impact.

“The girls who were 10 when they started watching are now in their 30s, and it’s so much fun,” she says.

“Like if I go to a meeting and someone meets me at the elevator and as we’re walking to her boss’ office she’ll often lean in and say, ‘Oh my god I loved Sabrina.’ And that always makes me feel really happy.”

The cast today.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch ran for seven seasons between 1996 and 2003 and followed a young Sabrina Spellman as she navigated life in high school (and later college) with her new-found magic powers.

Originally an Archie Comic character, Sabrina is set to get a new look following the success of Netflix’s Riverdale TV series. The spin-off takes its name from the original comic book series, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and is expected to air in 2019.
