They’re some of the hardest-working actors in the biz.

So you can bet that when the end-of-year summer holidays roll around, the cast of Home And Away make the most of their precious time off.

Of course with the most recent northern beaches COVID cluster wreaking havoc on thousands of family’s holiday plans around the country, Christmas this year looked very different.

Thankfully Sam Frost was able to make it down to Melbourne to be with her four brothers and sister before the Victorian boarder shut to NSW.

Meanwhile Ethan Brown was able to deliver the greatest Christmas gift of all – surprising his 16-year-old daughter Aaylah after COVID restrictions meant they were apart for most of the year.

Filming for the much-loved Channel 7 show officially wrapped on December 18, with the official H&A Instagram page revealing at the time: “And that’s a wrap!!!! 🎬 Thank you for being such loyal members of the Summer Bay family. We absolutely cannot wait to see you for another big year of Summer Bay feels in 2021!”

On Christmas Day Ethan Brown, who plays Tane on the show, surprised his daughter Aaylah after COVID restrictions meant they were apart for almost a year. The actor, who is based in Sydney due to his Home And Away gig, hasn’t been allowed to visit his daughter, who appears to live in his home country of New Zealand – but went back to surprise her at Christmas.

“Surprising my daughter after almost a year apart. A moment I have dreamed and fanaticised about for so long. I can’t articulate how tough this stretch has been. It’s indescribable and incomprehensible. COVID has taken away our ability to travel freely, and physically be with our loved ones. But love transcends the physical, and the distance and lost time has only strengthened our bond. We’re here and now, and our hearts are full again ❤️ ❤️. To the parents who have been separated from their children because of this year’s events, and to those who can’t see their loved ones at Christmas, I send you all my love and strength. To my daughter, you are my entire heart,” he explained.
