Olivia Newton-John’s sad death on August 8 rocked Australia and the world.

The talented actress and singer was beloved around the nation by a flock of devoted fans, but none were more besotted with her than her husband, plant researcher John Easterling.

The pair originally met back in 2005.

“I dated a little bit, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with him and then bam!” Olivia told People in October 2016. “He’s incredibly smart and compassionate. He says yes to everything, he says yes to life!”

The lovebirds eventually wed in 2008 after falling in love during a trip to the Amazon.

Their marriage was hardly easy considering Olivia’s cancer diagnosis.

The Grease star was first diagnosed with cancer in 1992 and then again in 2013 and 2017.

As a plant medicine researcher, John would grow herbal remedies for his wife in the couple’s Californian home.

The Australian icon previously opened up about their strong relationship amid such a terrible ordeal.

“I love learning from John about the plants and what they do to help people,” Olivia told Good Housekeeping.

“I think our relationship has gotten stronger, even though I didn’t think it could get stronger.”
