The pair’s management revealed the news via a statement.

“It is with much respect for each other that Michael and Lindy Klim have agreed to formally separate, believing that this decision is best for their family,” it read.

Asking for privacy, the statement added, “Michael and Lindy’s children will always remain their highest priority, and their happiness will be Michael and Lindy’s primary focus. We ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”

Lindy and Michael tied the knot in 2006 and together they share three children- Stella, 10, Rocco, 7, and 4-year-old Frankie.

The couple were known for their unconventional relationship, with the family splitting their time between Australia and Lindy’s native Bali.

Lindy admits, “We are very much a non-conventional family and some people really like it and think it is inspiring, but there are people out there that don’t like it.”

Speaking to Woman’s Day late last year, the Klims explained, “We’ve been doing the Bali to Melbourne shuffle for about three years now.”

The 38-year-old athlete stays in Melbourne to run the couple’s skincare business Milk & Co, while Lindy and the kids are based in Bali.

The 37-year-old Balinese princess relishes life in her native Bali, especially now that it is a home for her children.

“They [their kids] get to see people washing in the rivers on their way to school, which is really beautiful,” she told Woman’s Day.

At this time there is no comment on whether the kids will remain in Bali.
