The 64-year-old actress recently signed on to play the lead role in the upcoming comedic drama Ricki And The Flash, which is being directed by Jonathan Demme.
In the film, Streep’s character is a guitar-wielding, partying mother at night and a checkout lady during the day.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie has been in the works since last year.
TriStar Productions announced it has acquired the film.
