Star gazing at the 2019 Australian Open: The best celebrity moments from the tennis

Ahh, January.

It’s synonymous with long, hot summer nights, sizzling barbeques, swims in the ocean and of course, the Australian Open blaring in the background as the official summer soundtrack.

Every year, the prestigious tennis tournament is held over the last fortnight of January at Melbourne Park.

The Melbourne-based competition officially signals the start of the four tennis grand slams made up of the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

And it’s not just the intense games that make headlines, although we were gutted to see Aussie superstar Ash Barty knocked out in the women’s quarter-finals this week.

If you can peel your eyes away from the court-side action for just a moment, you’ll see a slew of famous faces from our sunny shores and abroad in the crowd.

This year, names like Anna Wintour, Andre Agassi, Alexis Ohanian, Ian Thorpe, Sylvia Jeffreys and the Hewitts have all been spotted cheering on from the stands and soaking up the electric atmosphere.
