If you are ever fortunate enough to be invited to a Buckingham Palace garden party, held to celebrate individuals’ remarkable acts of public service, there is a certain dress code to adhere to.

Whilst the men wear morning dress or lounge suits, sometimes with a bowler hat in tow, expect to see the women in bright dresses with hats or fascinators.

Of course, no one is better dressed than the royals in attendance, especially whenever Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge steps out.

Ever since her first garden party in 2012, the royal style icon has known how to stand out in the crowd whilst sticking to the formal dress code.

There’s no chance we’ll ever see the Duchess of Cambridge in a striking pant suit on the Buckingham Palace lawn, but she still has a way of commanding everyone’s attention with her fashion.

Whether she’s in bright hues, pastel colours or sticking to classic neutrals, Catherine knows how to perfectly balance the royal traditions with her fashionable modern day flair.
