It’s been five months since Duchess Catherine gave birth to Prince Louis. Now, she’s well and truly back and at ’em.

The Duchess of Cambridge returned to work on Tuesday October 2nd, throwing herself into the thick of things by visiting a children’s forest and garden school, and she couldn’t have looked more at ease.

Duchess Catherine jumped right back into her royal duties, laughing and chatting to young children at a visit to a forest and garden school.

Her trusty favourites! The mum-of-three stepped out in her beloved Penelope Chilvers knee-high brown boots, which she’s had for over a decade.

Wearing her beloved knee-high Penelope Chilvers boots, skinny pants and a khaki jacket, Duchess Catherine looked ready for business as she walked through the trees chatting to the children who attend the school.

The London-based school, named Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden, teaches children about the natural world, taking in thousands of students each year for visits.

Kate’s visit to the school was to see the “Positive impact that the Forest School has on children’s emotional and physical wellbeing”, according to Kensignton Palace.

Children attend the forest school to learn more about the natural world.

Kate shared some sweet anecdotes with teaches and students during the visit.

The visit was her first solo appearance since giving birth to Prince Louis on April 23 this year.

The five-month break is the longest maternity leave Kate has taken out of all three children.

After Prince George, she was back at work just six weeks later, while she took two months off following the birth of Princess Charlotte.

Interestingly, even her five month break following Prince Louis is significantly smaller than the average 9-12 months maternity leave new mums take in the UK.

During the event, Kate revealed a sweet activity that she enjoys partaking in with her two eldest children, George and Charlotte – spider hunting.

The Duchess told the students and teaches that the they could hunt for the eight-legged creatures “for hours” according to Hello!.

The visit was Duchess Catherine’s first solo appearance since giving birth to Prince Louis.

Kate was all smiles during the day.

The 36-year-old has a busy few weeks ahead. She is set to make a public appearance to promote World Health Day on October 10, and just a few days later she will attend the wedding of cousin Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Prince William, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are also expected to attend.

There’s nothing like throwing yourself back into the thick of things, and we can’t wait to see more of Kate!
