The Duchess of Cambridge made a rare appearance during her maternity leave on Sunday, when she joined her royal family to attend church.

Duchess Catherine was pictured travelling to Crathie Kirk parish in Scotland, with her grandmother-in-law the Queen beside her and her husband Prince William in the front passenger seat.

The Duchess looked elegant in a Catherine Walker coatdress and hat, but it was her jewellery which gave royal watchers delight.

The 36-year-old had dipped into her royal grandmother-in-law's jewellery box to to borrow a pair of peal earrings. But not just any earrings, the Queen's special Bahrain pearl and diamond drop earrings that were first given to the monarch as a wedding gift.
