Meghan Markle may be her past, but the Duchess of Sussex will no doubt be feeling a little heavy-hearted after making the decision to not go to the 2018 Emmys.

According to The Sun, the 37 has “politely turned down” the invitation to the 70th ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

The 2018 Emmys, which will take place on Monday 17 September 2018, would have loved the chance to host such a special star as she closes the chapter on her acting career.

Meghan has said goodbye to her former life…

The former actress was invited by NBC, but her pals says “her decision was a line in the sand” now she’s focusing on her duties as a full-time working royal.

“We had hoped Meghan would attend as a way of saying goodbye to her Suits fans and colleagues,” an insider told the publication.

“Show executives and NBC had offered Harry and her an invitation to celebrate with the biggest stars around, meet her showbiz friends and even present an honour.”

“But Meghan is not attending.”

Meghan Markle was on the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series nominations ballot for Suits, but the now-Duchess failed to receive a nod.

Meghan was beloved on Suits as Rachel Zane.

In November 2017, Meghan confirmed she was retiring from acting.

Speaking during her joint-engagement interview with Prince Harry, she mused, “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change.”

The 37-year-old played Rachel Zane on the hit series for seven seasons, admitting that she felt “very fortunate.”

“We’re very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series.”

“For me, once we hit the 100-episode marker, I thought, ‘You know what? I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work I’ve done there and now it’s time to, as you [Harry] said, work as a team with you.'”
