Fremantle Arts Centre in Western Australia. Built in 1860 by Australian convicts, the Arts Centre was originally an insane asylum. Experts say the Centre is haunted by no less than 10 ghosts who manifest through cold spots, voices, banging noises, movement of objects, footsteps, smells, physical contact, black shadows and part or full apparitions.

It’s home to an underground cell block called the “black hole”, where many prisoners lost their lives, others were forcibly executed behind these walls. There are reports of ghostly visions and terrifying noises from dead prisoners and guards.

Beechworth ‘Lunatic’ Asylum, Beechworth, Victoria. The Hospital closed in 1995 after 128 years of operation. With over 3000 patients losing their lives at the Asylum, it’s no wonder it ranks in at one of the most haunted places in Australia.
