While the British and Danish royal families are probably the most well-known among Australians, there are plenty of others dotted around Europe.

From the Dutch royal family, to the Spanish and Norwegians, there are royals just about everywhere you look.

And among these many royal families is a new generation of royals who are breaking the mould in exciting ways.

From Danish princes who walk high fashion runways, to German princesses running fashion empires and British aristocrats living the luxe life, these young royals are ones to watch.

Of course, there are also those walking a more traditional royal path and preparing to continue their royal family’s legacy.

Some will one day even wear crowns and be the Queen of their very own kingdom.

To celebrate the new generation of young royals, we’ve rounded up the ones you should be keeping an eye on – read on to meet them all!

01

Prince Nikolai of Denmark

The oldest grandson of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, 23-year-old Nikolai is son to Prince Joachim and his ex-wife Alexandra, but he’s more interested in modelling than royal duties. And who can blame him with looks like these?

Nikolai walked his first runway show in 2018 for none other than Burberry and has walked for other distinguished fashion houses and graced the covers of world-class magazines since.

02

Prince Felix of Denmark

Felix, 21, is Nikolai’s younger brother and shares his regal good looks. Unlike his big brother, Felix hasn’t gone into modelling (yet!) and instead has focused on his royal duties, passing his entry exam to the Royal Danish Military Academy in early 2022.

03

Pauline Ducruet of Monaco

This 29-year-old fashion designer royal can count none other than Grace Kelly as her grandmother. The eldest daughter of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, Pauline runs her own fashion label, Altered Designs, and is a regular at fashion weeks and luxe events around the world.

She’s also a competitive diver and was part of the Monaco delegation at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore.

04

Camille Gottlieb

No, she’s not an Instagram star or film starlet – but you’d be forgiven for thinking the 25-year-old royal was. She’s the youngest child of Princess Stephanie and former bodyguard Jean-Raymond Gottlieb, after Stephanie split from her ex husband.

There was some scandal around Camille’s birth, as her father’s identity was initially kept secret and even left off her birth certificate. And the young royal has no succession rights in Monaco because her parents were never married.

05

Princesses Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane of the Netherlands

Amalia, 19 (centre), Alexia, 18 (right), and Ariane, 16 (left), are the daughters of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. The three girls have been raised as traditional royals, with Amalia working closely with her father as his heir.

06

Princess Talita Natasha von Fürstenberg

This German princess grew up in the US and rarely uses her royal title, instead carving out a career for herself as a model, socialite and fashion designer. Princess Talita, 24, is daughter to Prince Alexander von Furstenberg and granddaughter to fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, and is set to one day take over the Diane von Furstenberg business.

07

Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark

This 27-year-old princess may be her father’s heir, but she’s more interested in modelling and fashion than ruling. Which is fortunate, given she sits behind all of her four brothers in the royal line of succession.

The eldest child and only daughter of Pavlos, Crown Prince of Greece and Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, the socialite has a huge Instagram following and has modelled for the likes of Dolce & Gabanna, Bvlgari and many more.

08

Prince Constantine-Alexios of Greece and Denmark

Known as ‘Tino’ by family and friends, the 24-year-old is the second child and first son of Princess Marie-Chantal and Prince Pavlos. But his godfather is even more well-known than his parents; it’s none other than Prince William!

The young prince studied at Georgetown university in the US and has even modelled for Dior.

09

Prince Achileas-Andreas of Greece and Denmark

This 22-year-old prince looks more like a social media influencer than a royal, but don’t be fooled. He’s the third-born of Princess Marie-Chantal and Prince Pavlos’ five children and lives a more “normal” life than his elder siblings.

He grew up mostly in the US, studied in New York and has even tried his hand at acting in 2017 on The Bold and the Beautiful.

10

Lady Amelia Windsor

Amelia, 27, is a distant cousin to Prince William and Prince Harry through her grandfather, Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, who is the cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth. Once dubbed the ‘most beautiful royal’ by British tabloid Tatler, she certainly has put her regal good looks to good use, walking for Dolce & Gabbana in 2019, featuring on the cover of Vogue Japan, and working in fashion with brands like Bvlgari.

11

Arthur Chatto

He looks like a male model, but 24-year-old Arthur is also a world-record athlete and a personal trainer. In late 2020 he revealed that he and his rowing team had completed the GB Row Challenge, a gruelling row around Britain, becoming the youngest team to do so.

He’s the grandson of Queen’s Elizabeth sister, the late Princess Margaret, and a distant relative of William and Harry.

12

Sam Chatto

Sam is Arthur’s artsy older brother, aged 26, and runs his own ceramics studio in West Sussex after studying History of Art at the University of Edinburgh. He used to share snaps like this one from 2017 on Instagram, but hasn’t posted on the platform in quite some time, much to the disappointment of his young female fans.

13

Marius Borg Høiby

Photographed here with a friend, Marius (left), 26, is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway and convicted felon Morten Borg, whom she was with prior to her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon of Norway. Though he was welcomed into the royal family after his mother wed the prince, Marius holds no royal titles and withdrew from royal life to move to the US in 2017.

14

Princesses Leonor and Sofia of Spain

Leonor, 18, and Sofia, 16, are the duaghters of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, with Leonor set to on day take over her father’s role as monarch.
