It was the fairytale wedding that swept Sweden.

Sofia Hellqvist, 30 married her prince, Sweden’s third in line to the throne Carl Philip.

Thousands of well-wishers lined the streets on Saturday for the afternoon event to cheer Miss Hellqvist, the commoner turned princess.

There’s been much media attention around the couple as Sofia is a former reality-TV star and underwear model.

But, at the dusk ceremony, Sofia looked nothing short of Royal.

After the official ceremony, the couple took a horse-drawn carriage to parade through the streets of Stockholm’s old town before returning to the palace for a 21-gun salute and wedding feast.

Among the guests were Princess Takamado of Japan and our Princess Mary.

The Royal couple missing were Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William who had attended Trooping the Colour with Prince George earlier that day.

Sofia and Carl reportedly first met at a restaurant in 2010.
