Princess Mary’s taste of home back on a beach

Crown Princess Mary may be a royal princess these days, but even she couldn't turn down a laidback day of sand, surf and fun earlier this week.

Crown Princess Mary may be a royal princess these days, but even she couldn’t turn down a laidback day of sand, surf and fun earlier this week.

The Aussie-born Danish princess spent time with the Danish Swimming Federation on Monday, laughing, smiling and posing with excited lifesavers. She was there to christen the new lifesaving post at Tversted Strand with water straight from the ocean.

There wasn’t any swimwear or sand between her toes in sight though, as the mother-of-four chose to protect herself from the cold in a woollen knit and some more practical sneakers.

Looks like she had a cracking time! Click through our gallery for all the pictures from the event.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Princess Mary was on Australian sand, because the Danish lifeguards wear a very similar uniform.
