Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco are in celebration mode with the royal couple gearing up to ring in a huge personal milestone early next month.

The stirring montage documents the pair’s love story – from meeting at the 2000 Marenostrum International Swimming Meet in Monaco when Charlene was representing South Africa in the swim team, to falling in love, getting married and welcoming their two children together, twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, six.

“Happy anniversary Albert. Thank you for the blessing of our beautiful children. ❤️,” the 43-year-old captioned her tribute.

According to the palace, this marks the first instalment in an upcoming series of ten videos, which will celebrate the couple’s decade-long romance.

Sadly for the couple, they will not be able to celebrate their wedding anniversary together this year with Charlene back in her native South Africa as she recovers from recent surgery for an ear, nose, and throat infection.

”This year will be the first time that I’m not with my husband on our anniversary in July, which is difficult, and it saddens me,” Princess Charlene explained in a statement.

”However, Albert and I had no choice but to follow the medical team’s instructions even though it is extremely difficult. He has been the most incredible support to me. My daily conversations with Albert and my children help immensely to keep my spirits up, but I miss being with them. It was special to have my family visit me in South Africa, and it was truly wonderful seeing them. I can’t wait to be reunited with them.”

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert tied the knot in lavish ceremony back in July 2011 over the course of three days at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco.

Dressed in an off-the-shoulder Giorgio Armani gown, Charlene Wittstock was truly a princess bride.

The glittering festivities were topped off with their vows, which they said at Sainte-Devote Chapel.

However their wedding didn’t come without controversy.

At the time speculation was ablaze when tabloids reported that Charlene had attempted to leave Monaco just days before her wedding.

Reports claimed the Palace worked with the police to confiscate her passport so she couldn’t leave the country.

The palace denied the stories and called them “ugly rumours” born out of jealousy.

The couple clearly made up, with Charlene making it down the aisle on July 2nd – following their civil marriage the day prior.

Snaps from the day show Charlene went through a range of emotions, from sobbing to smiling.

While Charlene’s wedding day tears made global headlines at the time, the pair have moved on from their turbulent past and seem to be the picture of love.
