Monaco’s royal family let their hair down in Monte Carlo at the weekend during one of the most hotly anticipated events on the European social calendar, The Rose Ball.

The ball, founded by Princess Grace in 1954, is a radiant spectacle that gathers together the big names in the Monégasque principality and Europe’s societal elite to mingle and raise money for the Princess Grace Foundation.

This year’s royal turnout included Princess Charlene, Prince Albert, and Princess Caroline – joined by her fun loving children, Pierre Rainier Stefano Casiraghi, 26, and her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi, 27, who proved to be queen of the evening’s dance floor.

Well known designers, artists and actors were also on the guest list rubbing shoulders with the royals as they sipped on champagne and partied in the night away all in the name of charity.

Princess Caroline looked elegant with a grey silk cape with cream trim over a glamorous dress.

Chanel maestro Karl Lagerfeld joined the royals wearing black trousers, a black suit jacket as well as his trademark sunglasses.

Princess Charlotte was the belle of the ball as she animatedly danced the night away.

Prince Albert and his wife, Charlene were uncharacteristically affectionate all evening.

Caroline’s son Pierre Casiraghi looked handsome and his long term partner Beatrice Borromeo was equally as lovely in her dusty rose gown with matching fur shawl.

Princess Caroline appeared to be having a ball as she was seated next to French actor Guillaume Gallienne.

Dame Shirley Bassey was among the exclusive guest list.

Italian publisher and playboy Massimo Gargia arrived with his date to enjoy the festivities.
