Ay, Caramba! Duchess Kate and Queen Elizabeth are a glittering delight at the Royal Spanish Banquet

Duchess Catherine floated into Buckingham Palace like a bejeweled goddess as she attended Queen Elizabeth’s state banquet.

The exquisite dinner, which was held in honour of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.

The black-tie affair, which took place in the palace ballroom on Wednesday evening, saw a huge 170 guest turn out including royal family favourites Prince Philip, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla.

Queen Elizabeth honored Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

Kate and Wills stepped out for the occasion.

All eyes were on Catherine, as the 35-year-old dazzled in her fashion forward bespoke Marchesa gown.

The dusky pink dress had a deep V-neck, and the sweeping neckline was ideal for her show-stopping Ruby and Diamond Floral Bandeau Necklace – which she borrowed from Prince William’s royal grandmother.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s mum opted for her trusted smoky eye and rose-hued make up combo.

Her floor length ensemble was completed with her hair pulled back into a bun, adorned with the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, one of Princess Diana’s favourites!

Kate loves to wear Diana’s beloved tiara.

The necklace is said to have been a wedding gift to Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, Catherine Spanish counterpart Queen Letizia took a note out of Kate’s 2016 State dinner look, donning a vibrant off-the-shoulder red dress which was embellished with intricate beadwork.

The 44-year-old completed her whimsical look with her stunning crown and a pair of diamond earrings.

Her Majesty continued her reign as the Queen of great looks, donning an aquamarine tiara and a satin, white Angela Kelly dress with sparkling embellishments.

The 91-year-old proudly led the royal procession into a banquet hall, with King Felipe by her side.

The Queens both stunned.

According to the Daily Express, guests dined on dishes such as poached fillet of salmon trout with fennel in a white wine veloute sauce, Scottish beef medallions with bone marrow and truffles, runner beans with sauteed radishes, celeriac salad, fondant potatoes, yellow and green zucchini and summer squash and dark chocolate and raspberry tarts.

“Your majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh and I are delighted to welcome you and Queen Letizia to Buckingham Palace this evening,” the Queen said in her welcoming speech.

“This state visit is an expression of the deep respect and friendship that describes relations between Spain and the United Kingdom. Just occasionally, a state visit can provide great opportunity for great personal happiness also.”

“So it was more than a century ago when your great-grandfather, King Alfonzo the 13th, met his future wife, Princess Victoria Eugenie, the granddaughter of our Queen Victoria, in this very ballroom.”

The Head of State reflected on Felipe’s parents’ visit back in 1986, before adding, “We remain deeply committed to the common defense and freedom of our countries.”

The Queen was delighted by the visit.

The Spanish royals are currently on a three-day state visit to the UK.

Earlier that day, the enjoyed afternoon tea with Charles and his wife Camilla.

Snaps from the afternoon showed royal fans an inside look into the future King’s home.

The 69-year-old had a few family portraits on display including a snap of his grandson Prince George.

The photo of the then-three month old was taken at George’s christening – featuring the family in the line of succession – the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

The future King opened up his home for his Spanish royal counterpart.
