The Queen loses one of her beloved corgis

One of the Queen’s cherished corgis, Holly has died.

Sad news out of the palace as news comes one of the Queen’s cherished corgis, Holly has died. She was 13.
Holly was reportedly suffering from illness due to old age and was put down at Balmoral last week.
Her Majesty’s furry companion became a national treasure after she was one of the dogs to star in the 2012 James Bond London Olympics sketch. She was also amoung the pets included for the Queen's 90th birthday portraits in 2016, taken by Annie Leibovitz.
The monarch now has just one corgi left – Willow, who is also 13, – along with two dachshund crosses, Vulcan and Candy.
Corgis have been the Queen’s preferred breed of dog since she was a child after her parents acquired a Pembroke Welsh corgi named Dookie.
