After 64 years on the throne the Queen is stepping down from some of the charities she is a patron of.
Buckingham Palace has confirmed the 90-year-old monarch will pass over 25 of her patronages to other members of the royal family – a possible sign she’s preparing to start to transition into semi-retirement.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been announced as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) Wimbledon will take up The Queen’s former duties as patron, Prince Harry is the new patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and Prince William will succeed her majesty as the Welsh Rugby Patron.

The Queen has been a dedicated supporter of many of her charities – 433 of her 600 bodies have had the honour of having HRH as their patron since 1952.
Wimbledon tennis club released a statement thanking the Queen for her service.
“We would like to thank Her Majesty for her long and unwavering service to The Club and The Championships during her time as our Patron,” commented Philip Brook, Chairman of The AELTC and The Championships.
“It was a great honour to welcome Her Majesty to Wimbledon in 2010 and we remain immensely proud of her role in the history of The Club and The Championships.”
