Princess Eugenie’s latest Instagram photo has sparked a BIG debate over its appearance

Princess Eugenie’s Instagram account provides a glorious and rare insight into the lives of royals – from cheeky throwback pictures to candid behind-the-scenes snaps.

As for her latest photo? Well, this one might take the cake in being the ultimate throwback.

In a completely unexpected moment, Eugenie has posted a sweet picture, shared on the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth.

And while her sentiment was clear, it’s also sparked a debate that has divided the internet…

In the surprise post, Eugenie shared a picture of Queen Victoria alongside another picture from a the recent film made about the Monarch’s life, starring Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend.

“Today marks the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (1819-1901). She reigned for almost 64 years and I’m very proud to be named after her,” Eugenie wrote.

“The first image is a portrait of Queen Victoria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873) @royalcollectiontrust.”

But there was something about the image that really captured everyone’s attention, and not for the reason you’d expect.

Indeed a number of Eugenie’s fans took to the comments section to voice their overwhelming opinion that the Queen looked exactly like Eugenie’s sister Beatrice.

“Your lovely sister resembles her very much,” wrote one fan.

“Princess Beatrice looks very much like Queen Victoria.. same eyes and pout…” Wrote another.

We can’t help but agree there are a few similarities between the red-headed royal and the former Monarch – decide for yourself below!

Eugenie’s post also sparked some surprise from fans when she added that her mum, Sarah Fergusen had produced the film portraying the renowned royal.

Describing the picture featuring the leading actors, Eugenie wrote: “The second [picture] is of Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend, who played Victoria and Albert in The Young Victoria (2009) – a film produced by @sarahferguson15”

Fans were surprised at the revelation.

“I had no idea your wonderful mother produced this film. It’s one of my very favorites. She’s very gifted!” Wrote one Instagram user.

Another wrote: “OMG, your mom produced it 😱”

Suffice to say this family is full of surprises!

All eyes are on the York fold at the moment after Sarah and Beatrice attended Gabriella Windsor’s royal wedding in May.

The stunning mother-and-daughter duo looked beautiful in shades of pink and navy blue, while Beatrice’s boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi looked dapper in a three-piece suit.

Eugenie wasn’t in attendance on the day, but she still shared her congratulations with the bride and groom, posting a sweet to her Instagram writing: “Congratulations dear Ella and Tom!! ❤️👰🏼 You look absolutely stunning.”
