The Mail on Sunday is reporting that the 27-year-old royal and her financer boyfriend called it quits after talks of marriage ended in the pair deciding that they didn’t see a long term future together.

Beatrice and Dave began dating a decade ago after Prince William introduced his cousin to Dave when the two became chums at university – William was at St Andrews while Dave was studying at nearby Edinburgh University.

The pair began dating after being introduced by Prince William in 2006.

Beatrice has spent the past year in the US studying a finance course in San Francisco before moving to the east coast to take an investment banking job. The royal reportedly made the move across the Atlantic to be with Dave was also commuting between the two coasts while pursuing his career working for taxi app company, Uber.

The Mail claims Princess Beatrice’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York and sister Princess Eugenie are reportedly “completely shocked” by the breakup.

While the news of the split is being widely reported by UK media there is no official word from Beatrice or her family as yet.
