Princess Beatrice slices open Ed Sheeran’s face with sword during knighting prank

Everyone was totally shocked and apparently Beatrice was very upset...

Princess Beatrice has accidentally slashed the face of musician Ed Sheeran during a mock knighting ceremony during a dinner party at the weekend, reports The Sun.
It’s believed Ed Sheeran, 25, sustained a cut near his eye and had to be taken to hospital after he was sliced with a ceremonial blade at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, home to Bea’s dad Prince Andrew.
Princess Beatrice of York was reportedly deeply upset about the incident.
The story goes that sometime during the party British crooner James Blunt was being fake-knighted by Princess Beatrice of York, 28, and somehow she swung the sword in the direction of Sheeran and it clipped him deep enough that he required medical attention.

While the royal was said to be inconsolable after the incident, a spy at the bash told The Sun that Ed handled the whole thing very courteously and tried to show her he was fine by returning once he'd gone to the hospital.
"A couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye but Ed really played it down," said an unnamed source who attended the small get-together. "Everyone was totally shocked and apparently Beatrice was very upset. But Ed was the perfect gentleman and told her it was just an accident."

While Sheeran and the Royal Family have yet to formally comment on the incident, the Thinking Out Loud singer was well enough to perform at a London concert the next day but photos of a mark on his face can be seen in selfies with fans.
