Princess Anne delighted fans as she was recently photographed visiting the set of popular British soap opera, Coronation Street.

However, the daughter to Queen Elizabeth’s acting skills weren’t tested, as she only visited the set in a professional capacity.

The stars of Coronation Street were very pleased to have a visit from Princess Anne.

As the Princess Royal is Patron of The Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI), she met with both cast and crew of the iconic drama on March 20 to discuss an upcoming storyline involving an acid attack.

Anne met with the producer of Coronation Street, Iain MacLeod, as well as cast members Charlotte Jordan, Ryan Prescott, Andrew Still, Rob Mallard and Sally Ann Matthews and viewed the yet-to-be-aired scenes depicting the acid attack.

Script writers, members of the story team and the make-up department also got the chance to consult Anne.

Whilst it appears as though the Princess is acting here, she unfortunately didn’t star in the show.

Prior to Anne’s visit, ASTI advised Coronation Street’s producers and writers about the plotline, which will see Daisy – played by Charlotte – attacked with acid by her stalker Justin – played by Andrew.

While there Princess Anne was given a guided tour of the entire set by Iain and John Whiston, Head of ITV in the North/MD Continuing Drama.

“Working with ASTI on this storyline has been invaluable to all of us. HRH’s patronage of the charity is clearly of huge importance to both Her Royal Highness and the charity and it was an absolute honour to have them join us at Coronation Street today,” John said of the visit.
