Prince William has attended his first royal engagement following the birth of his precious third child, providing all those still poised on the edge of their seats with an update about the tiny royal.

The update came during an appearance at the Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey Wednesday, which the proud new dad attended alongside his brother, Prince Harry, and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.

Duchess Catherine, very understably, did not turn out for the occasion.

Despite spending precious time away from his new bundle of joy, Wills appeared in good spirits at the afternoon service. He was at one point pictured as he stopped to greet his future sister-in-law with a sweet kiss on the cheek and a squeeze of the shoulder.

Meghan, 36, looked the picture of royal sophistication in a 1950s style bespoke textured crepe midi skirt suit by Emilia Wickstead for the engagement. She topped the outfit with a Philip Treacy pillbox-style hat.

Prince William and Meghan Markle share a sweet moment at the Anzac Day Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday.

Meghan, 36, looked every bit the royal in a skirt suit by Emilia Wickstead and a Philip Treacy pillbox-style hat.

While speaking to guests at the sombre event, the Duke was overheard saying that Kate and the new royal baby were “very well” and “in good form, luckily.”

He added: “Sleeping is going reasonably well so far, so he’s behaving himself, which is good news.”

William, 35, also seemed to drop a pretty major hint about his newborn son’s all-important moniker.

After someone in the crowd suggested the little prince’s name could be Alexander, William replied: “Funny you should say that.”

Alexander is, of course, big brother Prince George’s middle name. The four-year-old prince’s full name is George Alexander Louis. It’s understood his name was chosen to honor Queen Elizabeth, whose middle name is Alexandra. Prince Philip’s grandfather was also named Prince Louis Alexander of Battenberg.

With that in mind, the classic and history-laden name could be a serious contender.

William, Meghan and Harry were seated alongside one another at the afternoon service.

Prince Harry kept a watchful eye on his older brother as they chatted with guests at the sombre event.

Later, while chatting with Sir Jerry Mateparae, New Zealand High Commissioner to the U.K., the Dean of Westminster joked that Mateparae would like to throw his own name into the ring. “Jerry, would like it to be Jerry,” he quipped.

Wills then replied: “Jerry’s a strong name.”

Ok, now you’re just playing with us…

British oddsmakers currently have Arthur as the favourite for the royal tot. Albert, James, Philip, Jack, Thomas, Edward and Alexander are also popular choices.

The royal baby’s name is expected to be announced imminently, considering the names of siblings George and Charlotte were announced two days after their births.

On Monday, April 23rd, William and Kate took to the stairs of the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London to officially introduce the world to their third child.

Impressively, the royal couple’s short-lived appearance came just seven hours after the birth of their third child.

The birth was marked by bell ringing at Westminster Abbey, a 41-round gun salute in London’s Hyde Park at 2pm Tuesday local time and a 62-round salute at the Tower of London.

A huge congratulations once again to the royal couple on their beautiful baby!
