Prince Harry to bid Sydneysiders farewell at the Opera House

Attention all Sydneysiders: Prince Harry will be greeting his fans at the Opera House on Thursday from 12.30pm.

Captain Wales is winding up his month-long secondment with the Australian Defence Force and the Prince will be farewelling fans at the Sydney landmark.

The 30-year-old is set to take part in a military exercise on Sydney Harbour on Thursday morning followed by a meeting with NSW Premier, Mike Baird at the Man of War steps on the Opera House.

Fans will be delighted at the chance to meet the fifth in line to the throne from 12.30pm but just make sure you don’t ask for a selfie!

During his first engagement while on his military tour of Australia, the young prince went to the National War Memorial in Canberra when one young admirer asked for a happy snap.

“I hate selfies. Seriously – I know you’re young, but selfies are bad. Just take a normal photograph,” Harry quipped as the crowd erupted in laughter.

The British local has had a splendid time during his month-long stay, jetting between Canberra, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

While in Perth Harry’s sister-in-law, Duchess Catherine gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

“She is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to meet her,” The uncle said about his new niece.

Harry must be excited to return home to his family, but Australia will miss him. In fact even his father, Prince Charles has realised how much Aussies love his youngest son.

“I’m sure he’ll be happy Down Under because of the Aussies’ fondness for rangas,” Prince Charles teased recently.

And he’s certainly right – thanks for the visit Harry, please don’t leave us!
