As the world eagerly awaits the birth of the newest royal baby, there was another very important birthday to celebrate – the Queen’s!

Members of the royal family stepped out for the occasion, which coincided with Easter, at a Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on April 21st.

Her Majesty, who turned 93, was wearing a beautiful duck egg blue coat, and was greeted by her family as she entered the chapel.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also in attendance, as was the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry – however, noticeably absent, was his heavily-pregnant wife the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, who is due to give birth any day now.

Duchess Catherine, however, was beaming as she spoke with her family, while dressed in a stunning (recycled) blue Alexander McQueen coat – which she previously wore at another Easter service in 2014 during a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand.

But it was her royal curtsy that wowed crowds, one which she has perfected since joining the family in 2011.

Also in attendance was Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, Princess Beatrice and Zara and Mike Tindall – fresh from a royally fun family outing with their daughters and Prince George and Princess Charlotte during the week.

Earlier in the day, The Queen’s family took to Instagram to send well-wishes to their “Granny” for her birthday.

The official profile of Kensington Royal – Prince William and Catherine’s account wrote:

“Wishing a very happy 93rd birthday to Her Majesty The Queen!”

On a more personal note, the official Sussex Royal account, home to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s household, read:

“Happy Birthday Your Majesty, Ma’am, Granny. Wishing you the most wonderful day! 🎈Harry & Meghan”

It even including a red birthday balloon for the occasion!

But it was the Queen’s very own Instagram account which paid tribute to the longest-reigning monarch.

While it may be her birthday week, the Queen showed no signs of slowing down as she attended the Maundy Thursday ceremony, also at St. George’s in Windsor.

The ceremony sees her visit a cathedral to hand out commemorative coins called maundy money to the poor.

She gave 93 men and 93 women coins honouring Queen Victoria and Sherlock Holmes and this year, she was joined by Princess Eugenie.
