Is more family drama on the horizon?

In this day and age, Instagram follows are like currency. But it’s not just about how many you have, it’s also about who you follow.

Eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed something a little bit shady on the relatively new Sussex Royal Instagram account, when they saw that Harry and Meghan had unfollowed one of our other favourite royal accounts Kensington Royal, the account devoted to Prince William and Duchess Catherine.

And Harry and Meghan didn’t stop there.

In fact, the couple, who are due to welcome their first child any day now, hit unfollow on every single British royal family account, including @theroyalfamily, which chronicles what the Queen gets up to, @clarencehouse, the official ‘gram of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, and Princess Eugenie’s personal account.

Could it be another feud? Has tension reached boiling point? Well it turns out, the reason is a lot sweeter.

In their latest post, Harry and Meghan paid tribute to a host of mental health organisations in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month in the US and Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

“We invite you to explore the extraordinary stories of strength, and the commitment to kindness as seen in the above accounts,” they captioned the photo collage.

“Each month we will honour this same concept and change the accounts we solely follow based on a different theme or cause. Please go to our homepage and click “following” to see each of the select accounts and find out more about their work.”

Among the accounts Sussex Royal is currently following are Heads Together, Kind Campaign and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.

It’s clear Harry and Meghan dance to beat of their own drum when it comes to royal life.

The Sussexes have not only moved into their own residence at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, away from the hustle and bustle of London’s Kensington Palace, but nearly broke the internet when their Instagram account @sussexroyal was born.

They even broke a world record by garnering more than a million followers in five hours and 45 minutes!

While the royal Instagram accounts are spearheaded by a team of savvy PR experts, we have a hunch that the Duchess of Sussex has been putting her two cents in when it comes to posts.

After all, she has a wealth of experience from her days running her lifestyle blog The Tig.

From the Americanised vocabulary to the light-hearted tone, we are getting some serious Meghan vibes.

Let’s see how else she’ll shake up the modern monarchy following Baby Sussex’s arrival!
