Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have hired a new gun to take their work outside of the royal family to the next level – and he’s literally Oscar worthy.
Indeed, the celebrated Ben Browning, who has been behind globally recognised feature films including The Big Sick and Room has been hired by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a leading role to help curate their own productions via umbrella foundation, Archewell.
The producer has most recently been behind the Oscar nominated film, Promising Young Woman, which has received global praise and recognition.
For Harry and Meghan, their aim for Archewell Productions – the name of the company they’ll be producing film and documentaries under – is to bring content that will “utilise the power of storytelling to embrace our shared humanity and duty to truth through a compassionate lens.”
As head of content for the company, Ben will be leading that charge in collaboration with the Duke and Duchess.

(Queens Commonwealth Trust)The pair have also enlisted social impact and culture change agency Invisible Hand, which will collaborate with Archewell to bring strategic change through storytelling and support growth in gender and racial equality.
The company, founded by Genevieve Roth, works to develop strategic programs and problem solve issues pertaining to equality and inclusivity, informed by data and research.
In a statement from Archewell, Global Press Secretary Toya Holness said: “Archewell is incredibly pleased to welcome Ben, Genevieve and the Invisible Hand team to the organisation.
“Along with the appointment of James Holt as Executive Director of Archewell Foundation, they join a rapidly expanding team that’s deeply dedicated to advancing systemic cultural change and supporting compassionate communities across the world.”
The Duke and Duchess have been working hard on growing their foundation behind the scenes.
(CBS)The appointments come just weeks after Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they opened up properly for the first time about their experience as working senior royal family members.
It was made pertinently clear as to why they decided to step back from their roles in the UK and to start afresh with their own, socially responsible agenda in the US.
And while it’s barely been 12 months, already we’re seeing action.
