Prince Harry is currently at work, work, work and it got a whole lot sweeter thanks to the unofficial Princess of Barbados, Rihanna.

The beloved royal was visibly star struck when he met the songstress during a Toast to the Nation event celebrating the 50th anniversary of independence of Barbados, a former British colony.

The Prince had no idea he was going to meet Rihanna at the party, only finding out 20 minutes prior.

“We thought he would be meeting her for the first time at the concert later. He found out just before arriving. About 20 minutes before, that she would be here and sitting near his table,” a senior royal aide told The Daily Express.

Taking it into his stride, Harry introduced himself to the pop royalty, saying, “Hello, it’s very nice to meet you.”

He then went on to address the reception, praising the island’s incredible talents.

“The extraordinary talents of your people, from the cricket field to the music industry have been admired and recognised throughout the world.”

“Barbados remains a favoured holiday destination for British people.”

“Not only for the incredible natural beauty of your country but because you have a great warmth and generosity of spirit.”

Harry didn’t think he was meeting Rihanna until later in the day…

But clearly he was pleased to chat to pop’s princess!

At the reception, the 28-year-old singer, who was dressed in sky-blue, sat at the table across from Meghan Markle’s beau.

Rihanna, who was born in Barbados, is expected to perform the country’s national anthem at the Golden Anniversary Spectacular Mega Concert later in the day.

Prince Harry will be joining in for the exciting gig, which will take place at Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown in front of a 20,000 crowd.
